Gold Beach,
Oregon

Located on the
Southern Oregon Coast, Gold Beach, Oregon is about 50
miles north of the California border. This is a
scenic area that showcases the Rogue River meeting
the Pacific Ocean. The community of Gold Beach,
Oregon was founded in the mid 1800's and was known
for it's gold mining. Today it has a population of
about 2000 people. You will find privacy on the
beaches and excellent hiking trails, and
forests.

Jet boat tours are available from May through
October and travel up the Rogue River (pictured above) offering scenic views of the wildlife that
included deer and eagles. If you are wanting to fish the ocean or just do some sightseeing, charter boats are available. In addition there are other coastal
streams available and the Gold Beach area is well known for its excellent salmon
and steelhead fishing.

Gold Beach
Brew and Art Festival - Held in September, you
can view the work from local artists and enjoy live
music. A wide variety of cuisine is available for
sampling and of course there are different types of micro beers
to enjoy.
Curry County
Historical Society Museum - Check out the
collection of relics and artifacts that were part of
the Gold Beach area's history.
Goldrush Art
Festival - Held in May, this event attracts local
and regional artists in a competition that offers
cash rewards to the winners. Food from local vendors
and refreshments are also offered.
Pistol River State
Park - Located south of Gold Beach, it was named
after a Indian War that occurred in 1856. The beach
is excellent and has been a host to national
windsurfing contests.
