Florence, Oregon is located along Highway 101 and if you're driving by you
should stop and pay a visit. The town offers a variety of recreational
activities, local events and don't forget to check out the historic old town
district of Florence. Old Town features the Siuslaw Pioneer Museum where you can
view relics of the pioneers and Native Americans. If you're looking for fishing
trips, horseback rides and even dune buggy tours this is the place to be. The
area is surrounded with beautiful scenery.

Florence, Oregon is known for it's fishing. Local freshwater lakes and rivers
offer outstanding fishing. These include the Dune Lakes, Sutton Lake and the
Umpqua River is nearby. There is also fishing charter vessels if you want to
venture into the ocean.
Florence is also known for its Rhododendron Festival. This is a annual event,
held during May, featuring a pageant and car and gun shows.

Sea Lion Caves - Located about 11 miles north of Florence, Oregon this
area is home to the Stellar's Sea Lion. You can view two hundred or so of these
animals as they live in the caves from the months during fall and winter.
Heceta Head Lighthouse - Located near Heceta Head State
Park (pictured above), hike a
short trail and you're there! The lighthouse was built in the 1800's and is a
photographers dream.
Siuslaw River - Take a relaxing trip on the sternwheeler and enjoy a
dinner cruise and breathtaking scenery.
