Welcome To The Oregon Coast!
|
This is your guide to Oregon Coast towns
and beaches that are located along the
scenic U.S. Highway 101. On these pages you will find
information on motels, restaurants, local events,
recreation and
more!
The Oregon coast is
360 miles of beautiful country with small to medium
sized communities that serve as seaports and fishing
towns. Much of it's natural beauty has remained
unchanged and free from commercial development.
Whether you're looking
for fishing, shipwrecks, swimming, crabbing, boating,
camping or a relaxing walk on the beach, it's all
here. The Oregon coastal towns have great places to dine and
lodging is usually readily available.

The
Oregon Coast begins at the north near the small town
of Astoria and continues south to the California
border. It is entirely public land
and Oregon law
prohibits the sale of coastal property. As a result
the Oregon Coast is a home for many animals. Whales
generally start migrating in March and also in
December.
The species include Humpback, Gray and Orca.
Harbor Seals can be found near the southern coast of
Oregon as well as Sea Lions.

The Oregon Coast is
dotted with small towns. It is a mixture of fishing
towns to resorts to old logging towns.
There is only
one highway along the coastline (U.S. Highway 101).
During peak tourist season the traffic can be heavy,
but the gorgeous scenery makes it well worth the wait.
